Cranleigh Preparatory School

SongTrees' Host School
At Cranleigh Preparatory School we welcome everyone to share in our passion and commitment to excellence in education. A blend of tradition and innovation ensures a perfect atmosphere for happy and relaxed children to enjoy and fulfill their musical goals.
The School has a lively tradition of performing and composing music with enthusiasm and skill. Classical, jazz and world music are explored in active sessions led by our staff of twenty-seven professional music teachers. In addition to academic music lessons, a comprehensive programme of string, woodwind, brass, percussion and piano tuition is offered. Over 98% of the pupils learn at least one or more musical instruments. Our termly entry to Associated Board examinations grows annually, the majority of pupils gaining a merit or distinction.
Four full orchestras, string ensembles, wind bands, guitar groups, contemporary pop bands, flute choirs, recorder consorts, brass bands and chamber groups give concerts throughout the year. Pupils record and produce their own CDs through the Music Technology Department and are regularly invited to play in the wider community.
Cranleigh Prep School is delighted to be the host School for SongTrees.
Park Mead Primary School
Park Mead Primary School wishes all the SongTrees performers in tonight's concert the very best of luck, with special thanks to the SongTrees instrumental teachers: Briar Hitchen, Jo Levi and Ron Tendler
Gosden House
Gosden House is a special school for pupils aged 4-16 years. 30 pupils aged 9 - 16 will be taking part in tonight's concert. They will have had 5 rehearsals in order to learn the work. Although they have found it difficult they like the sound and want to learn. They particularly like the folk songs that are familiar to them and love how it has been arranged with the part singing. I am sure that they will get a lot out of this wonderful joint venture! .
